Even though it’s a young model, the production version made its world debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the CLA already received lots of tuning kits, but two of them really catch the eye. First Brabus who has always been a technical partner of Stuttgart in the preparation of versions that were even more aggressive and now here’s the answer from Piecha Design, another company very closely connected to Mercedes. The kit from Piecha Design succeeds in offering a sportier appearance while retaining the car’s overall elegant appearance.

CLA GT-R is the name given by the factory to the brand new Mercedes CLA Rottweil. In general the kit follows the style of tuning made in Germany, without upsetting the sinuous lines of the new compact made in Stuttgart. The interventions to the car body are limited to the development of a decidedly sporty bodykit, as you can see from the image, which includes a new front bumper with lower splitter and new thin moldings in aluminum color to the large side air intakes, two “skirts”, and at the rear two thin spoilers ( one at the rear and the second on top of the trunk ) and also a bumper that highlights two horizontal slits to the corner and a large diffuser with two pairs of exhaust pipes from 90 mm in diameter. The tailpipes can also be applied to all other models in the CLA lineup. The tuner also removed the car’s wheels arches and added new side skirts. The kit from Piecha Design is completed with the adoption of a set of 10” alloy wheels with spoke design.

Under the hood the setting power train remains the standard, which equips the CLA 250: 2-liter 4-cylinder with 211 hp and 350 Nm of torque, matted to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. According to Piecha Design, the CLA 250 GT-R is set up to maximize the benefits provided by the version list: top speed of 240 km/h and 6.7 seconds for the passage 0-100km/h, and a brand new exhaust system so that the car’s four-cylinder engine to deliver an awesome note.
